New Day, New Perspective!

Posted in Uncategorized with tags , , , , , , , on November 22, 2010 by dianaswonderworks

Getting tired already, another week begins. This week also starts the holiday season for many people in this country as well. Looking forward to seeing how this plays out in the gallery. My boss, the owner of the gallery is of the firm opinion that the Christmas shopping spree seen so dramatically in the retail business, is not so exciting in the gallery business. I am hoping he is wrong this time! Anyway, been busy catching up with my shops this weekend, deleting things I have sold in the gallery and updating some things in others as well. I have some new items I posted in my Zazzle store, excited to see if that helps sales. I have done a few more paintings this weekend and made some prints to take to the gallery with me this week. Excited about that too!

I fell in love with a painting I did of Lily of the Valley, my favorite flower. It is so cute, I hate to sell it, but money is still a need so, sell it must. My favorites always seem to be everyone else’s favorites as well. Guess I will have to let it go!

Also new for me lately, been very busy working on myself and letting things go. Everything fro the past, to the little things that really affect me day to day. I am learning, that all I need to be worrying about is keeping myself on track spiritually, that is the number one priority. With that will come my art  and also, focusing more on my physical health and wellness. It is time, too many years letting life take over me, now it is time to take over my life! I did my tarot cards today, and other than minor hiccups it looks like a very good week for me. Lots of good cards pointing to wealth from hard work, unexpected money ( maybe the lottery is coming!), and spiritual strength. All good, means I am on track, one warning for the week, not to be casual spending money. So, not much of a Thanksgiving planned, no cash and only one day off. I mean it is retail in a sense at a gallery. I do not want to spend that one day cooking and being for two people. I would rather work on art and enjoy a quiet day with my guy. I am sure he will like it too, working seven days a week can take its toll. I am hoping he gets at least two days off, even though it will be tight financially. I know he needs some rest and down time, he has earned it!

Well, happy that things are slowing moving in the direction, I had hoped. Excited about where things may go, my artwork on Baobao bags is not posted yet, so I guess it will appear next week. I will alert you, in the hopes that you find it in your heart to vote for me. I would be honored and thrilled to have my art on the public market. We shall see how it goes. I do know, that no matter what, if they offer it again, I will apply and hope that one day I can have that honor. I do hope your week has started out happily and that it gets even better towards the end! Sending out my love to you all, as always, diana!/profile.php?id=100000810145663*

Let’s Play Catch The Clock!

Posted in Uncategorized with tags , , , , , , , on September 13, 2010 by dianaswonderworks

Well this should have been done hours ago. It seems that my computer or Firefox has been having difficulty this morning. And a simple task like writing a sentence is taking minutes to load! So, I rebooted and am hoping that solves the problem. Happy Monday to you and hope your week started out as great as you wished it would be, really hope it was better. I know most people do not look forward to Mondays. Well for me today is beat the clock Monday and only the beginning of beat the clock week. I have been so busy trying to do so many things since I got my car out of the shop, that now I am severely behind on catching up on my art, my shops, my blogs and my job search. So, this week I intend on doing my all to make up for lost time. Funny how my computer had an entirely different agenda than me! I was doing some searching this morning and found a site called eHow, pretty cool. It seems you can put a profile on there and watch videos and read how to’s on all kinds of things.

Now, if you are more computer savvy than I bear with me. I was really excited about it. The diversity of things you can get information about is staggering. It will take me a minute to absorb it all. So, technically now I have even more things to do than first anticipated. I wonder how long I can go without sleep? I need those hours to catch up. For those of you unfamiliar with this site, check it out, really amazing how many things you can learn about. They have everything from how to keep getting bitten by mosquitoes to digital filming techniques and a whole gamut of subjects in between and all around. So, if you have an interest or several interests that you are curious about, check them out. You can build a profile and make friends and I am hoping they will also, help me figure out more about it. For me other than a great way to fill my head with trivia that interests me, I think it will be a great way to network as well. The first person to add me has over 2000 friends on her page. I am thinking it is a pretty big site.

Now that I have that off my chest it is off to the drawing board for me. Yesterday was all about doing housework and cooking and baking. Today is all about doing artwork, blogging and tweeting and all the stuff required for me to maintain and grow my online business. I added some new prints to my shops yesterday and will be adding some more today, for anyone interested in checking it out. I also, added something new to my Zazzle store. So, eBay, ETSY, Artfire, Zibbet and Zazzle have new items for you to see. Hoping you enjoy them and your day, all my love to you, diana

PS: I am adding my eHow link, if you would like to check it out too!!/profile.php?id=100000810145663*

August Sun And No Where To Run!

Posted in Uncategorized with tags , , , , , , , on August 9, 2010 by dianaswonderworks

Well, got home a few minutes ago from the art fair. I was the only one there today, must have missed the memo. It was hot and none profitable, but it was a good day. The lady who runs this show and I have been able to talk and I am learning so much. More ideas on how to promote my business, not just online, but in the area I live in. She had some great pointers and I volunteered to be her apprentice! Just being silly, but I did tell her I would love to learn what she knows on how to sell here int this area, without paying out a bunch of money ( which if you know me, I do not have any). So happily, like a good little sponge, I absorbed all I could today and consider the learning well worth the time and effort I am putting in. With any luck at all, I will make some money as word gets out. I will continue to try new things and see what I can do to help myself. I am thinking about setting up an easel and doing some painting to attract people to the area as well. Got a few more, but seeing as I am not a joggler, one thing at a time!

I am quite sure part of the reason for the lack of sales and people in general, was the heat. It was a seriously hot and humid day. Hard to breath sitting still hot, so I am hoping as the weather cools, more people will arrive. I do know we have an add coming out on Thursday, however, unless there is some kind of a miracle, I a not sure it will help. I have to put my car in the shop on Wednesday and fear I may not get it back till Friday at the earliest. I am hoping that at least Friday I can be there to see if it helps at all. They are also calling for storms this weekend, so not sure if that will help or hinder our efforts. I know we should have a new artist starting tomorrow, and hopefully the other regular will be back tomorrow (he has taken the last couple of days off). It would be nice to have company. I still have to figure out where I can get some tables, cheap! I have been rigging thins up and borrowing, just to set up. With time all will fall into place. Can’t wait for that day! I am conpletely exhausted and feel so gritty from being out in the heat all day, ready for a nice cold bubble bath to sooth me and cool me.

I did forget yesterday to mention that the print I had on, was a new t-shirt print for my Zazzle store. The print I am publishing today is one I did of my grand-daughter yesterday. It is an older picture of her, and I made it fun, she was always dressing as a fairy for Halloween, so I made her a fairy in the picture too! Her momma liked it and I think it is cute as well, very colorful and fun! Hoping you are having a wonderful day, that is the only way to start out a work week! As always love to you and yours from me, diana!/profile.php?id=100000810145663*

Sleepless In The Mountains

Posted in Uncategorized with tags , , , , , , , on August 2, 2010 by dianaswonderworks

Well, I made it awake all night. Took a short nap, about an hour today, so I am thinking tonight is going to be an early night. I did get a lot done however, and that is always good! I finally finished the drawing with the square on it, I made myself a couple of friendship bracelets and made about seven stylish friendship bracelets to sell. I need to make some more like the one I am wearing just to keep on me to sell, and maybe to add to my online stores. I also, was hoping to get at least one drawing started, with some new T-Shirt specific prints to put into my Zazzle account (store).

Hoping you have started the week out right, ready to go and ready to be done! I started with a bang for sure, all niter, what was I thinking? Actually, it wasn’t as bad as I thought it would be, I figured on being a train wreck today. I am still going strong, but I know that can only go on so long. Once that second wind, blows out, I will be lucky to make it to my bed. I wanted to get a couple more bracelets done and then I am thinking of doing at least one sun print for t-shirts, something brilliant, but with no background, so it has a nice effect on the t-shirts. Maybe a sea turtle, lizard, frog, fish, not sure but I would like to get humpin’ and get several designs done. I think they will look great. I will be sure to post them so you can see for yourself. For today, I will post the drawing I was working on, and probably tomorrow, I will upload pictures of the bracelets, I made as well. We will have to see, there are quite a few pictures already. If you are completely impatient however, you can go to my shops, because they are listed there already. All except my ETSY account, it keeps malfunctioning, so only one is listed there for now. I will include my links at the bottom of this page so you can check them out!

So, I have started the week busy and plan on keeping up my momentum as long as possible. It has been so difficult trying to keep up with all the sites, that I haven’t had as much time to work on my art. The last few days I have been focusing on the art, and so the stores have been neglected. Every week I am getting better at juggling my time and dividing my attentions to all that needs to be done. Now, all I really have to squeeze in is some kind of a workout and reading time. One thing at a time, first get this part on track and then I can incorporate more into this schedule of mine! Sending my love, got to go, still lots to do , before my body yells at me. Love, diana!/profile.php?id=100000810145663*

A New Coviction, A New Life!

Posted in Uncategorized with tags , , , , , , , on July 25, 2010 by dianaswonderworks

Just saw the movie Invictus, what a great movie! I love the poem and am inspired by it. Thought I would share it for those of you who haven’t read it, and those that have a reminder of how powerful it is! Hoping your weekend is going great! I have been busy working on a new shop I will share with you. It is on Zazzle and I can put my prints on t-shirts, coffee mugs, posters and all kinds of cool things! I am excited, it is on this blog, if you get a chance look it up and let me know what you think. Love hearing from you.

Anyway, got to get back to work. Nothing exciting on the lottery yet. Haven’t got on the charity book yet, still in process. As soon as I find out, you will be the first to know. Love to you as always, diana

by William Ernest Henley; 1849-1903
Out of the night that covers me,Black as the Pit from pole to pole,

I thank whatever gods may beFor my unconquerable soul.
In the fell clutch of circumstanceI have not winced nor cried aloud.

Under the bludgeonings of chanceMy head is bloody, but unbowed.
Beyond this place of wrath and tearsLooms but the horror of the shade,

And yet the menace of the yearsFinds, and shall find me, unafraid.
It matters not how strait the gate,How charged with punishments the scroll,

I am the master of my fate;I am the captain of my soul.
