Giving Back!

We today I went down to the food bank. Needed groceries and some toiletries. I have not been able to get a ride to the food stamp office, and so I walked to the food bank, hoping to get some assistance, I had no idea how I was going to get it all home, it is about a mile walk, and not a big deal empty handed, but carrying, dish soap, laundry soap and groceries was going to be a tough challenge. Stepping out in faith that somehow I would make it home without difficulty and letting that supreme power handle my light work. Great news, I made it home with a ride from some one I knew up there and arrived without incident at my home. Even got help carrying it all in! What a great day!

Well, this all lead to something else. On occasion, I have walked up to the church next door to that office for dinner on Thursday nights. It is usually good food and a chance to meet people from around town. I asked my friend who helped me get home today, if she could use some help tomorrow. Yes, she is the one who does the cooking for this dinner every week. She said yes. I mean hey, what else am I doing right now? I am currently unemployed and count on these little things myself to stay fed and keep a roof over my head. So I thought I am not doing anything like work at this time, other than working on my art. So I have time to give back in a simple way to those who have been helping me. I can offer my arms and legs and help them to continue to provide these services. In my own little way helping to contribute to my own needs as well as giving me an opportunity to help people who are in my situation or even worse off. So,  tomorrow I will be working. It may not be a paying gig, but it is working. This is my way of saying to those powers that be, I am ready to give my time. With any luck, it will expedite my chances of making some real cash! keep your fingers crossed, I really need a break, and am willing to do what I have to do to make it happen.

Well, I have about $2.00 in chance on me, just enough to get one last lottery ticket. I just got home, and not sure if I am going to splurge it today or wait for Saturday night’s drawing. I will see what my gut tells me. For now I am happy to be home again and looking forward to working on some painting. It is my stress release. Since tomorrow I will not be home all day, this is my day to do what brings me joy! I am going to work, smile and dream of the things I want in my life. Wishing for all the blessings and dreams I wait to happen everyday. Wish me lots of luck, I am sending it your way too! If you have anything to share, I will gladly respond and if you want an extra happy wish, let me know what you are hoping for and I will send some extra love and good wishes your way. Sending out my love to you and yours as always, diana

Willard Mountain View

Well, today I am posting a new painting I did inspired by a hike to Willard Mountain in New Hampshire. It was a beautiful day and my first real hike to an actual peak. It was tough, it really showed me how out of shape I really was and still am. But, it was a moment I will never forget, something I never dreamed I would do! With much struggle and some real effort I did make it to the top, and even got coaxed into going to the edge of the cliff. I will never forget that day!

On our way to the top I saw a tree. It was a funny tree. When I first saw it, from the angle I was at it looked like it had a nose. Once I started walking around it, I realized it had a crooked branch sticking out of it, and from the side you could not see it, it just looked like a big nose. I was so inspired that I decided to paint a picture of that tree, to remember my trip there. The picture of the painting is the picture on here today, and once I get my PC back and up I will put it up with the painting so you can see them together. For now, you will have to just imagine the tree I saw that day. The painting is more reflective of a Van Gogh style painting so it will not reflect the actual picture.

Okay, so far I don’t have my lottery check, still waiting! I did look for work today and found one I felt was promising. Last Friday, I had a black out and ended up in the ER. Rough night, was given time off of work and my boss was not happy. She took me off the schedule immediately and as of today has not put me back on it again. Times sure have changed. The days of people being empathetic and kind or concerned seems to be rare anymore. I was shocked to say the least. So, now I have to make a new plan and create a new income! As always I wait for my art to start selling and for other financial opportunities to come my way (looking of course).

Today, is a day to draw, and devise a plan for tomorrow. Part one will be going to the hospital to check on my paperwork and see if I qualify for assistance with the bill. Also, hoping to make a run for the unemployment office as well to see if I can salvage some kind of an income from there as well. Hopefully with some good luck in my favor the job I applied for today will call me and hire me. Mostly, it would be great if they are good folks to work for. It would be a nice change of pace, and I can only hope that since they are in the business of healthcare, that they have more compassion then my last few employers!

Sending my love to you and yours as always, hope you had a great holiday, whichever you celebrate, and if you don’t I still hope you enjoyed the season. We finally are reaching the dawning of a new year. I for one am very excited to see what it will bring! Lots of love to you, diana

Snow For Christmas!

Posted in Uncategorized with tags , , , , , , , , on December 23, 2011 by dianaswonderworks

This slideshow requires JavaScript.

Well, today was a wonder to behold. Here in New Hampshire we woke up to snow! Not that the weather wasn’t predicted,  but strange when you consider the weather yesterday. All day yesterday, it was like spring outside. The sun was out, bright and clear, the temperatures were mild. It really reminded me of the weather when I first arrived here in Late March. A light jacket is all you needed to enjoy the day. Then Some time over night the temperature dropped and so did the snow. Already with daylight, and the sun shining in the sky, the snow is starting to melt. But, the vision of that beautiful snow, unmarred by people, first thing in the morning, brings a smile to my face. Already it is feeling more like Christmas!

Okay, so now some quick updates, I am sure you are aware that I am an artist. If not, you will be familiar with that idea now. So,, for those of you who do follow me and my art, I do have a new painting to share with you. This is a painting I finished about a month ago. Maybe two now, just before I moved to my new address, it is a giraffe, felt in the mood to see Africa, SO, I decided to create a little of it for myself. If you are interested in any way to purchase it, or to see the prices, please follow the links enclosed to go to one of my shops or Facebook to contact me. I will be sharing a couple more in the next couple of days, as well as some photos of a few more hiking pictures, to help those of you not familiar with New Hampshire to see the beauty surrounding us here! Hope you enjoy them all.

It seems, one prayer of mine has been answered and I will be driving a new car. Not new, as in off the showroom floor, but new as in, new to me. This is a great relief off of my mind for sure. So, Merry Christmas to me, and to the givers of this wonderful gift, and to you as well and those you love. I hope you  are having a wonderful Holiday Season, no matter, what holiday you celebrate, if any. No matter, wishing you lots of happiness, and blessings of every kind.

Now, also a quick update on the lottery horizon. Just to say, that my dream of winning the lottery this year, hes not come to pass, just yet. I am confident that one day soon, the message on here will be a joyous one. I can’t wait! Sending you lots of love, for yourself and all those you care about. Wishing you end this year with a smile and a life full. Full of blessings, love, joy, peace and happiness for all! Enough for today, and see you soon, diana

Art Sale!

Posted in Uncategorized with tags , , , , , , , , , , , , , on March 25, 2011 by dianaswonderworks

Been a while since I checked in, I have been busy doing yard sales and art sales for the last couple of weeks. Things are not going as well as I had hoped. The weather has been a bit of an obstacle, major storms and high winds have made it difficult the last couple of days to be open for business. Those days have been filled with errands, house work and now working on a children’s book with my friend, Sherry. She was very inspired by the srtwork I have here and thought it would make wonderful illustrations for a child’s book. It has been uber busy the last few days for sure! I keep up my hopes that things will get better exponentially, so that my move will not be delayed or that I will have to resort to selling what little furniture I have left just to make it there. So, if you are reading please say a prayer or send me some positive thoughts to carry things through. I do appreciate it.
Online shops are just dragging along and my opinion of them is not what I perceived. It seems, lots of people look, no one is buying. It only ends up being a money maker for the online store sites, for me, it is only something that is eating up my cash (and just in case you don’t already know, I don’t have any of that to spare). It is highly likely, that I will have to let most of them go, it just isn’t worth the investment. I hear for some it works out, and I still have a few more tricks up my sleeve, once I get settled in after the move. Just thinking out loud, if you have any pointers, I would love to hear them, so do share.
Obviously, since I am still broke, the lottery jackpot is not mine yet. I await patiently for that wonderful day! Drawings are tonight, so send me some happy thoughts, I am wishing the same for you, if you play of course. If you do not indulge in the lottery, I still am wishing you good fortune and luck in whatever venue you are pursuing. In this day and age, I believe we can use all the luck and help we can get. It is about time, we quit relying on some one else to create our luck, it is ours to make. Leaving up to some one else, just guarantees, that we won’t have any. They will be looking out for their own best interests, unfortunately, that will many  times rule out helping some one else. I am not condoning or promoting selfishness, not by any means. We must always look to give and help others in any way we can. What I am saying is that your destiny is only going to explode in front of you, if YOU make it a priority, we all have our own. Others should be looking to bring their destinies into focus, but always freely help others to achieve theirs as well. Remember who you are, what drives you, and the one thing that makes your life happy! Then use that to create a perfect place for you and everyone around you.
It is a chilly day, and being a Friday, with a not so pretty weather outlook for the weekend, the yard sale is busy. Not as many buyers, just yet, but lots of lookers. It is time to post my add on Craig’s list too, to help drum up some more business. Plus spending some time working on the book would help my day go quickly, and happily as well. So with lots of love, and happy thoughts for you, I must bid you adieu, diana

The Mermaid And The Bachelor!

Posted in Uncategorized with tags , , , , , , , on March 15, 2011 by dianaswonderworks

Well, Tuesday morning has  arrived and most of you know how things went on The Bachelor last night. Even if you have not been following, it is showing up on the news and tabloids all over the place. News coverage mostly today, but I saw it in the tabloids last week, that Brad and Emily were having problems. It kind of took the surprise out of who he was going to choose! Tabloids really are annoying. I will say this, I figured he would choose Emily for a long time. Lots of clues, he missed her when they were apart, and he became a real gentleman when she was with him. Just clues from some one who has seen a guy or two in love. Wishing them well, life is hard enough with all of the regular problems we all face, but with all the added stuff they need to overcome, an extra vote of confidence could be really useful.

Well, the mermaid portion of my blog today is the painting I did, actually weeks ago. Finally got it framed last week with the others. Silly me, for got to take a picture of this one. So, today is the unveiling of my mermaid painting! Hope you like it, it is very playful and colorful, she makes me smile! I did also start on my giraffe painting, and got it way done, but am still deciding what else I would like to do to it, I just feel like it needs something. Today will be all about figuring that out.

I have also been working on a dream journal. Not much progress there. Not because I have a lack of dreams, when I wake up, I don’t want to turn the lights on and all that to write it down. I may have to invest in a small recorder and speak into the recorder and write it down when I am awake. It has always been hard for me to wake up and then go right back to sleep. So, at three in the morning or whatever time it is I wake, a choice has to be made and sleep seems to be getting the upper hand! Go figure! I am curious what I can learn from my dreams, hopefully more about me and how my mind works.

The move is still progressing forward, and as time goes on it gets closer and more things to be done. I hope to get a jump start this week, by working on a yard sale. Lots to do, getting signs together, pricing things, digging out things to sell and advertising, blah, blah, blah! Wish me luck! By the way, no big lottery jackpot to claim yet, this week, but who knows maybe tonight is my night. I know I am quite ready! Hoping your week is off to a great start already! Wishing you all the good luck you can handle, and sending my love to you as always, diana

Don’t Be Nostalgic!

Posted in Uncategorized with tags , , , , , , , on March 13, 2011 by dianaswonderworks

Well, so unlike the plan I had, of a blissful weekend with my baby girl. It appears that nothing is as it seems to me. She arrived later than planned on Friday and left on Saturday evening. I know the reasons, but my heart hurts and I miss her. I did my cards yesterday, before I even knew she was leaving. The funny thing is it warned about remembering the past, and not to let myself become nostalgic. Today‘s reads like this “Know thyself. Reflection. Contemplation. Introversion and solitude. Take care not to become too detached from the world around you.” Right when I found out she was leaving, I realized I had my work cut out for me. I tried my best to not get lost in remembering her as a baby, and how special things were between us. I just realized things have changed, life is like that and today, I must go paint, it will keep my spirits up, and keep my from wallowing in some, what could I have done different, self deserving, self punishing behavior. None of that is self serving or helpful. So, I hope she is now home safely, missing her more than a little bit.

Still dreaming of Giraffes, and South Africa. The hope for today, is to start working on a painting of one. It will be in my usual style, and I do hope you like it, fun and playful and always full of color! I posted some of the paintings, I did have finished, but were not framed on yesterday’s post. If you haven’t had a chance to see them, look there, I do have to admit, I for got one. I have a painting of a mermaid that I forgot totake a picture of. I will get one soon and add that to the collection.

No big lottery jack pot either this weekend. But, I am convinced it is going to happen soon. I need to research attorneys, and money managers. I think I should just hire Suze Orman, to make sure I use the money in the right ways, for charities, retirement, business and gifts, but all in all, set it up so that I can achieve all of my dreams, and maximize my efforts! She is the girl with the plan for me. so, if you are peeking in here Suze, I will be needing you soon!

Almost time for breakfast, and I could use a nice, warm cup of coffee. Hoping you and your family are having a wonderful weekend. Looks cloudy here today, guess I need to check out the weather too. Sending my love to you and yours, and lots of wonde4rful wishes, as always, diana

PS. Did pretty good not being nostalgic, huh? And so far not being anti-social either!

Glorious Sunflowers!

Posted in Uncategorized with tags , , , , , , , on October 12, 2010 by dianaswonderworks

Well, I can officially say that I have finally finished my Sunflower painting. I think I am going to name it Glorious Sunflowers. It turned out beautifully, I hope you like it. The pictures on this blog were taken not too long ago, and I am so very happy with the outcome. The sad part will be letting it go, got to sell it, need the money. It has been a long journey with this canvas. I started it about 4 years ago, and ran out of the colors, mostly the yellow. This canvas has moved with me over and over again, waited for me while I worked two jobs at a time, just to be able to afford the paints, and finally for me to dig it out of the closet, and complete the process.

The original plan, at the place I lived at when I started it, was for it to go on the wall in my dining room. I had some Shaker ladder back chairs. I had planned on re-seating the chairs, with red, yellow and green fabric. The Flowers were to look over  my table and guests, that was the dream. My room mate at the time, stole my chairs and many other things from me. For the above mentioned reason, I no longer live at that address. Where I am now, there is no dining room, and definitely no chairs and table to make it happen. So many people who have seen me working on this painting over the last few weeks, have loved this canvas. Everyone says they want to buy it, or knows some one who will. One of my friends, is going to give me an opportunity to put this canvas in a gallery, through a friend of hers. So, keep your fingers crossed, I would love to sell it and have money to buy more supplies to make more, and then sell more. The ultimate catch twenty-two for me!

Now, on the job front, I received a call today. I have a job interview tomorrow, it is a good job for me. At least that is what I think, the universe may have other plans. At two-thirty tomorrow, I will be going through the interview process. I can only hope all goes well. Considering the luck I have been having, I am not going to let myself get too excited. But, it is good and hopeful news for sure. Tonight is also, lottery night, you never know, maybe tonight will be my night! Keep your fingers crossed!

Now, I am going to get to work on some drawings, I think and tomorrow I need to get the jewelry out of the car and begin that process of pricing and designing stands or racks for displaying the jewelry. With any luck at all, these can be in the shop, by the beginning of next week. So much work, so little time. The drawings, I am hoping to do are for some holiday (Halloween for now) cards to be put on my Zazzle account. In my dream world, hopefully I can knock a couple of them out tonight and in the morning. It all just depends on how creative my brain is going to be. After spending weeks on the painting, it may take a while to get back into the swing of things. Sending you my love, where ever you may be, diana
