Looking For A Friend!

Posted in Uncategorized with tags , , , , , , , on February 15, 2011 by dianaswonderworks

Well, watched a recoded show today called Disappeared. The subject of the program was the story of  a young woman, Toni Sharpless. The  story is about how she and a friend went out one night in 2009, Toni was upset, stressed, dropped her friend on the side of the road and left. It was late at night, in a strange neighborhood to her and her friend. She was never seen again, her friend called the police the next day. No one has seen from her or heard from her since. I decided to do a blog about it, because she is a young woman, who worked hard as a single mother to take care of her daughter. If something like this would happen to me or any of my friends, I would like to think people would do all they could, to bring this mom back to her daughter. The world is a very uncertain place, and so many things are possible. If you can find the time to just go to this link, and refer it to your friends and family, well you never know, you may have the key to bringing this family some peace. She was a nurse by trade, so she spent her life helping care for others. It would be a great injustice for her life not to receive the same care and love she gave to others. I hope you can help, we all need to do what we can, when possible to take a moment to care for the world we live in. Anyway, this is the link: .

Hoping your day is going well, I have been busy and just finished the drawing I was working on. Now, it is time to make some lunch and start another project. I am starting to feel my energy rise again, spring is my favorite of all seasons. Cool weather, not freezing, the buds starting to pop their heads out of branched, and plants and the earth. The hope of new life, and feeling that great energy bloom with it! Just love it. Hoping your day after Valentines is wonderful, and if you did not have some one special do something for you, remember, you can do it for yourself. Do something extra wonderful today, and set that bar really high, so that next year it can only be better!

Quick note, I did not win the lottery last night. But, I have been having really good dreams lately, I love dreaming anyway. Lately however, they have been coming back and they are so wonderful. The night before Valentine’s Day, I dreamed I was living in Hawaii. All night dreams of painting exotic flowers and walking beautiful sandy beaches, it was so great! Hope you have a happy day. Sending out my love to you as usual, love always, diana!/profile.php?id=100000810145663*

Happy Valentines Day!

Posted in Uncategorized with tags , , , , , , , on February 14, 2011 by dianaswonderworks

Today I am working on a drawing I started a couple of weeks ago(before I got the flu). Lots of tiny detail work. Although money is tight and my abilities to go celebrate the holiday in customary fashion are hindered. It is none the less my favorite holiday of the year, besides Christmas. These two holidays remain dear to me for one reason, they are so focused on love.  On this Valentine’s Day, I wish for you a happy one. If you have some one to share it with do it. It does not matter if you have money to spend on each other, what matters is just showing them you care. If you do not have that special some one, like a husband, wife, girlfriend or boyfriend, do not despair. Do something kind for a neighbor, friend, child, parent or anyone you feel drawn to share a little bit of love. A simple act of kindness is all, just to let that person (who may not have some one to get that from) feel loved or appreciated, just noticed on a day, when it is so easy to feel out of the loop!

As an example, I remember that for my daughters, every year on Valentine’s Day, we had out own little ritual. I would get up early and make thin German pancakes(chocolate flavor), and fill them with fruit filling(usually strawberry or cherry) and then top them with whipped cream. To go with it a nice mug of home made hot cocoa with whipped cream or marshmallows. With their breakfast, I would lay out a card, heart shaped box of chocolates for them to share with friends, and any other gift for that day. Since it is not a school holiday, I wanted to make sure they were able to get that special love from me to carry with them through out the day. No matter who got something from this boy or other, they had that special time with me in the morning, and it made their day! They still talk about it, and yesterday my youngest called for the recipes, so she could do that for her room mates. I know they had a wonderful day!

So as I head back to work on my artwork, just wanted to say Happy Valentine’s Day to you and yours. Just a little extra love today, since today is a holiday of love. After all, we all need to feel special and what better day to feel special than today! Extra love to you and yours, wishing you love of happiness today, diana!/profile.php?id=100000810145663*

Happy Days Are Here Again!

Posted in Uncategorized with tags , , , , , , , on January 27, 2011 by dianaswonderworks

Well, just got in. Left work a little early to have a apinting framed. Quiet day at the gallery, just a couple of people, no sales. Slow time of year for sure. Ready to eat something and get to work painting. Not sure if I am planning on working on the Mermaid, ,might just wait on that, until I am sure what I am doing. Thinking about a Sunflower one again, a part 2 of the Big One!

Just checked my lottery, not a millionaire yet, but hey, tomorrow is another day and another drawing. Never can tell what tomorrow will bring.

Driving home tonight, I was remembering making noodles with my grandmother as a child. It is such a cool memory, and so different by today’s standards. I remember her rolling out all that dough, spreading flour on it, rolling it out to a paper thin sheet. No fancy rolling machines for! Then she would lay out this huge sheet on her bed to dry out. It had to be four feet, in a huge circle. Then the next morning, my sisters and I would her by making the noodles. She would cut some for a dumpling style noodle, and we had the fun job, She cut others into squares or like a diamond shape. She had this board with ridges in it. We took the noodle laid it out on this board, and with a wooden stick (round and short and thinner than a chop stick), we would press down on the noodle and roll it across the board. It made a tubular noodle with ridges down the center. The top and bottom were not ridged, but made a point. Every day grandpa had to have home made chicken soup. So, every day grandma went out to the yard (they lived on a farm), and she killed a chicken, we had to help her pluck it. Then she made the soup, fresh meat, fresh noodles, it was the best ever! Thinking to myself, I really want to make those again someday. Nothing can compare, I guess that is why I do not like a lot of soups, tastes like water to me. Lost the thrill at an early age, once you have had the best it is hard to go back.

Anyway, just thought I would share. Not so sure how many of you have that memory. A little different from the usual American childhood, I guess. Surprise me, I would love to know if anyone else has a similar memory. Lots of the fancier restaurants now a days are bringing the whole fresh noodle back again. So, clearly I am not the only one to appreciate this delicacy. Another new picture is posted hope you like it. Sending out my love to you as always, hoping you are having a great day! diana!/profile.php?id=100000810145663*

Drug Madness And Mayhem!

Posted in Uncategorized with tags , , , , , , , on November 17, 2010 by dianaswonderworks

Feeling a little sad and wondering why people are so inconsiderate. Had a good day, no big sales, not a lot of customers, my boss was bad and forth. One minute ready to blow like a volcano and the next happy and joking around. All in all, an okay day. Just got home, ready to relax, when the phone rings. One of my best friends called me, very upset and angry. A little background may help explain.

I met her not long after I moved to this area, she was working at a job I had just gotten hired on at. It was a retail store, money not so great, but lots of hours, sometimes massive overtime, so it was do-able. When I met her, she was the sole bread earner in her family. Her husband had been diagnosed disabled by physicians, due to a serious back injury. Not surprising the government did not agree, so while they fought Social Security in the courts to get him an income, she worked really hard to try to support him and four children. Now, as you may have already guessed, she was not getting ahead, but slowly falling behind. No matter how many overtime hours we got at work, it was not enough money to go around, especially with a family of that size. Her oldest children worked part time, while they went to high school, and did what they could to contribute. Finally a settlement was given and he was able to contribute to the income, however by then they were so far behind that she is still trying to get things caught up.

With many things passed by for the sake of keeping it short, we arrive at today. She goes home from work and finds that her home was broken into while she was at work, and what few valuable belongings she has, are now missing. Some one broke into the house while she was away and relieved her of her valuables. Not a great way to ens a day, especially when you can’t just run out and replace it. This saddens me, I cannot even explain how sad it makes me. She is a good person, with a huge heart, one of the last people to deserve this kind of treatment, and the fact that she is so broke multiplies it! So tonight, no matter what I planned to blog about, I am sending out a shout out. To all of you, who choose to do drugs (she has suspects in mind, young people hooked on pills), I personally do not care to tell you how to live your life. If popping pills is what you think life is all about (although I think that is really sad), go on and do what you feel. However, pay for your habits the honest way. It is not the rest of societies obligation to support you and your habits. Sell your own things if you must, and when you have nothing left, get a job and work to support your habit, or QUIT if you are unable to pay for it. A struggling single mom and two 10 year old twins should not have to do without, for you to get a fix!

To anyone else, please excuse my out burst this evening. It is so sad to me, that at this time of year when we all should be in a mood to give to those we love, and to those who has less, that some one who is in need, has to pay. Send all your good thoughts out to my friend, that blessings come her way, that all that was lost will be returned, this would make me so very happy. Sending out my love to all of you who read my blog, lovingly, diana!/profile.php?id=100000810145663*

First Snow And Sale!

Posted in Uncategorized with tags , , , , , , , on November 6, 2010 by dianaswonderworks

Today was full of excitement and unexpected things. For starters, not long after I arrived at the gallery today, it started snowing! Beautiful, it was so relaxing and enjoyable to watch it fall to the ground. Being this time of year, it promptly melted. For me, it made my day, and really made me feel like the holiday s are coming swiftly. The weather forecast, the one I saw yesterday morning said the rain would pass through by noon. A little off, I am thinking, it definitely was not rain, and it lasted on and off all day long. A big surprise for everyone I talked to today.

Today I also had the opportunity to make my first sale on my own art. I will post the painting I sold. It was really funny. It was three people, two women and one man. I introduced myself, as I always do, and sent them off to enjoy the artwork. They stopped feet from me in front of the wood paintings I did and went crazy over the two sea turtle paintings I had done. One of the women turns to me and says “Funny, I just mentioned to him, when we were coming in that I wanted to find something with a sea turtle on it and here it is!” She was so excited, they asked me if I could sign it for them to her son. Which I said I would, and she asked me to enclose a business card for him and also give her one too, for future reference! I was so very happy! I have made barely any sales all week, so no money for me, and today I sold one of my own. Not a big priced item, but cash in my pocket none the less. It was a good day. I have to take the sea turtle off the storefronts tonight.

Lots to do, I have to make some more artwork for the gallery, even though I don”t have the money to frame anything or matte it. But, at least it will be ready when I have the money to do it. So, I have to get busy. I did not win the lottery last night, so I am keeping my fingers crossed for tonight! Maybe, my luck will carry through all evening.I took my vitamins and B-12 complex and some coffee to wake up. I was so beat when I came home, I needed to boost up. Now that the energy is picking up, it is time to get some things accomplished.Take care, and have a wonderful weekend, I will keep you updated on anything new or interesting that pops up, love always, diana!/profile.php?id=100000810145663*

Fall Showers Bring Winter Flowers!

Posted in Uncategorized with tags , , , , , , , on September 26, 2010 by dianaswonderworks

It is Sunday and the rain clouds have been hanging over us all day. No crazy storms, just a nice cloudy day with intermittent showers. Keeping it cooler than it has been for a while. The rain always brings news of summer flowers in the spring. In the fall it is the announcement of those pretty winter flowers we call snow flakes! I have always loved the snow, the snowflakes have a unique beauty, nothing else compares. It has so many uses and so many fun ways to play in it. Not a huge fan of the cold, but I make allowances for the beauty it brings. It reminds me of the warmth that winter brings, all those great holidays we all enjoy. Even in the coldest weather our hearts fill with the warmth of being with the ones we love on those special holidays. For me, being of European descent it is Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Years. I know that New Years is celebrated by many other cultures, but on different dates, depending on the part of the world you live in. And even if you have a different nationality there are so many holidays to choose from at this time of the year. People seem to get more light hearted, and good natured at this point in the year. It seems the cold weather on the outside brings with it a warming on the inside. A very good side effect, at least that is what I think. I also think, it would not hurt to keep that part of our natures alive all through the year! What a happy world it would be.

I spent the day doing shopping and cooking today, still have more I would like to do. I am hoping to squeeze in some  fresh baked banana bread later this evening. I am also looking forward to finishing my painting, and starting on something new  tomorrow. The cherry on top will be reading my Steven King novel, I purchased a couple of weeks ago, in a nice hot bubble bath! I am definitely in the mood for some good old fashioned relaxation tonight. The pot roast I made turned out great and some home made mashed potatoes to go with it, and of course some nice vegetables cooked in with the roast. Nice hearty winter kind of meal, it was a nice break from all the summer light meals I am used to. I am sure it will be warm again tomorrow, but I am thrilled with the respite we had today.

I also, read a book a friend of mine wrote today, it took a few hours, but I finished I am sure she will be happy to know I finally got around to that! It was good, reminded me a lot of Dean Koontz, but from a girls point of view. It was a good crime, fiction novelette. Also, one of my findings today was on eHow. I was looking for information on how to build a website, and found a link for building one with a WordPress blog. I have not read it all the way through yet, I do need some money to get a domain name with and to set up an account with some one to handle the site. Or something of that nature, see told you I did not read it all, but it sounded like  a good option for me to try. Hopefully, money will find me some time soon and I can get busy on that as well! Since I am still broke, I am sure you have guessed that I did not win the lottery this weekend, but hey I haven’t given up! So wish me luck, oh and if you know anything about setting up to do a charity I would be happy to hear from you. All my love as always, diana!/profile.php?id=100000810145663*

Dreaming Of Sunflowers!

Posted in Uncategorized with tags , , , , , , , , on September 24, 2010 by dianaswonderworks

Well, still working on the sunflower painting. Been tough, my neck has been really bad lately, but I am off to do as much as I can right now! Wish me luck, I need to gt this one done and get on with something else. It has been a busy day so far, Fridays always are, running to the bank, paying bills, and answering calls, etc… I have some laundry as well to do, and some cooking. I am going to do the art show tomorrow, so I have to get as much done today as possible to be able to spend the day there. I will say my new sign up, on eHow is really going well. Other than the usual online creeps, I am meeting some really nice people. They seem to be very helpful as far as running an online business and just general advice on how the site works. It is really refreshing to meet so many helpful and considerate people in one place.

Business remains slow at this time. But today I am also planning on selling some prints on eBay. I am hoping some will sell it would be nice to make some money this weekend! Also, with fall coming around the corner I am hoping that people will start tier Christmas shopping and all those people that selected items in my shop, as favorites, will actually do some shopping. It would make for a busy, but refreshing holiday for me. it would make me feel like all that hard work was finally paying off. Still no word on a job, nothing temporary or otherwise in the works. i don’t know what they are saying in the news about our recession, but from my perspective and many people I know all around the country, it is still in full running. So many people are finding it it hard to find work these days. It hurts us all. The sooner we as a people can take charge of our lives and financial status the better. It is no secret the people out of work, seem to be in the middle class, and with them out of work, all facets of society suffer, they are and always will be the spenders. With no spending everything is crawling along, and that is bad news for more and more of the middle class. Our system cannot survive with only the poor (being the majority) and the rich (being the minority). The rich don’t spend on enough to keep us all working and the poor cannot afford to spend at all. As more and more of our middle class, slides down into the lower class of spending, we will all find ourselves in a great mess! We must support each other, every little bit counts. No one else is going to save us, we must save ourselves!

Hoping you are having a wonderful day. I am staying on top of things and continue to work and hope that things will finally start to ease up for all of us. The weekend is at the door and I truly hope no matter of your circumstances, that you will enjoy the weekend and your loved ones. sending you my love, diana!/profile.php?id=100000810145663*

Sunflowers And Colors Of Fall!

Posted in Uncategorized with tags , , , , , , , on September 21, 2010 by dianaswonderworks

Well, sorry this post is so late. I have been painting my heart out since yesterday. I had a painting I started a few years ago, and ran out of paint and then time. Since I have been home, it just has been shuffled from one corner to another. Always waiting for the right combination of time and paint colors to finish it. I went to the art show this weekend, no sales, but I did get an itch to paint. So, on Sunday, I got to looking at pictures with fall leaves and pumpkins, not jack-o-lanterns, just pumpkins. I was really in the mood to feel those fall colors, sick of the heat and anticipating the beauty and coolness of fall. As, I racked my brain for an idea, and I did have several, nothing really got the juices flowing. I ran across this neglected painting and decided, that it had the right color combination I was looking for and it has waited long enough to be completed.

It is a big painting, not sure the exact size I will have to measure it, but I think it is around 4′ x 2′. Anyway, it is a cool color palette and I am happy to be getting it done. The more I do, the more I want to see it done. So, I have been charging onward, and am hoping to finish it this week for sure, with any luck in the next couple of days. It has been really fun, to play with paint again. I really do hope to start selling some art soon, because, I would love to build up my paints and focus on painting. It really is the most enjoyable of the arts for me.

Other than that, no extraordinary news. Let me see, I have not won the big jack pot in the lottery, yet! I am slowly recuperating from the banquets I worked on Wednesday and Thursday. Still hitting the heating pad at night and sometimes during the day, to stop the spasms in my muscles. My toothache is at bay, brushing constantly and using mouthwash to keep every germ as dead as possible is definitely helping that out. So, all in all, i guess I am recovering from last week a little. I am happy for that as well. I did not hear from the gentleman who offered me a possible job, he was supposed to call today. Time will tell, the temporary service I worked for last week, called today, in the hour I took to run errands, late this afternoon, so when I returned home, it was too late to call back. Guess I will have a few things to get to in the morning, before, the paint brush touches my hands. It is all good, something to break up the day, makes it interesting and fun. Wishing you all a great nights sleep, sending you sweet dreams and all my love, as usual, diana!/profile.php?id=100000810145663*

Hungry For Something!

Posted in Uncategorized with tags , , , , , , , on September 1, 2010 by dianaswonderworks

Today’s theme is I am hungry for something.I am literally starving right now, don’t know what I want to eat. My stomach won’t stop growling, and I can’t think of one thing I want to eat. I don’t like that feeling, because I usually pick something fast and then end up with indigestion. I shouldn’t let myself get this hungry. Beyond my stomach hunger, I am also hungry for an end to this madness. I want my car back, I want a job, I want to move forward, in essence I want my life back! This is limbo and I cannot stand limbo. It is the most maddening, cagey feeling there is. I feel like a tiger trapped in a small cage, just pacing and waiting for my opportunity to bust out! Trying to stay calm and waiting for the perfect moment. Hoping I will be ready with the right move at the right time. Wish me luck!

In other news, I an listing some $.99 deals on Ebay to get some art moving. Simple prints, not signed, numbered or matted, just a quickie out the door kind of sale. I have sold one and shipped it out, I hope it starts moving even faster. Nothing else to do right now to make money. Got to work with what I got, and right now it is very limited. No luck with the lottery yet!. That would be a welcome blessing for sure, a moment of celebration, after so much insecurity and stress. It is my favorite dream! So much waiting to do, and no time to really do it. I have so many things I need to be doing and they all require an address and a car. No car, and the address is only till the end of the month. What a mess!

All sales on the other sites is non-existent right now. Here in town sales are very slow too, and online, I hear from many shop owners that theirs is slow as well. Tough times for a lot of people. We all need to pitch in, to help each other as much as we can, with the economic problems here in the US. The big businesses and government are not concerned with our problems, the only solution is for all of us to band together and reach out. Every little bit we can do to help each other out will be what saves us all from even worse times. Just my thoughts on the matter, putting more effort into small businesses and local businesses will be the key. Remember what this nation is based on, it started as small communities, supporting each other, creating success for the individual as well as for the populous as a whole! Hoping you are having a great day, would love to hear your thoughts. All my love to you, diana!/profile.php?id=100000810145663*

Almost Friday, A Sale Plus Updates On A Few Other Things!

Posted in Uncategorized with tags , , , , , , , on July 22, 2010 by dianaswonderworks

Well, I am so very happy it is almost Friday. Thrilled that the weekend is finally right at the door and ready to enjoy it. I am sure that seems weird, since I am not working outside the home. But, even with staying home the weekends always feel different than the other days. Not sure what it is, I don’t go out, nothing like that, but the days feel more fun to me. Must be a psychological thing, but it is true. Checked on the lottery last night now winner yet. So, tomorrow, I will be getting my picks for the next week, wish me lots of luck, need it ( not that you don’t, but I would do it for you)!Wishing you happy thoughts now, just for topping in.

I am working on a painting right now, no clues it will have to be a surprise this time. It just feels good to be playing with my paints again. I am feeling the crochet or sewing bug though, just not sure what I want to make. Maybe, I should replace the black lace vintage style gloves I sold earlier this week! That could be a good idea. Oh, and guess what, had another sale last night, but the best news is this one was on my Artfire account! This is the first sale in that store, all the others so far have been in ETSY. Now, if that will only get that account jump started I would be so very happy! Then, I just need to get my Zibbet account going, that is the store with the most hits, and I would be thrilled to see it take off as well. Wow, so keep your fingers crossed for me the weekend is here! I have high hopes for a profitable weekend!

Well, that is the latest on the most exciting news. I did get an e-mail back from AskDoctors about my little experience. Their advice to take a pregnancy test and get an appointment with a doctor. So, being broke really is the worst part about me. I do not have money for a pregnancy test and definitely do I have hundreds of dollars to spend at a doctor. So, for now, I will grin and bear it. Pray hard, and hope with a hope beyond hope, that I will stay healthy and all will be good! Love to you all, hoping your Thursday is as happy as you are, diana
