Snow For Christmas!

Well, today was a wonder to behold. Here in New Hampshire we woke up to snow! Not that the weather wasn’t predicted,  but strange when you consider the weather yesterday. All day yesterday, it was like spring outside. The sun was out, bright and clear, the temperatures were mild. It really reminded me of the weather when I first arrived here in Late March. A light jacket is all you needed to enjoy the day. Then Some time over night the temperature dropped and so did the snow. Already with daylight, and the sun shining in the sky, the snow is starting to melt. But, the vision of that beautiful snow, unmarred by people, first thing in the morning, brings a smile to my face. Already it is feeling more like Christmas!

Okay, so now some quick updates, I am sure you are aware that I am an artist. If not, you will be familiar with that idea now. So,, for those of you who do follow me and my art, I do have a new painting to share with you. This is a painting I finished about a month ago. Maybe two now, just before I moved to my new address, it is a giraffe, felt in the mood to see Africa, SO, I decided to create a little of it for myself. If you are interested in any way to purchase it, or to see the prices, please follow the links enclosed to go to one of my shops or Facebook to contact me. I will be sharing a couple more in the next couple of days, as well as some photos of a few more hiking pictures, to help those of you not familiar with New Hampshire to see the beauty surrounding us here! Hope you enjoy them all.

It seems, one prayer of mine has been answered and I will be driving a new car. Not new, as in off the showroom floor, but new as in, new to me. This is a great relief off of my mind for sure. So, Merry Christmas to me, and to the givers of this wonderful gift, and to you as well and those you love. I hope you  are having a wonderful Holiday Season, no matter, what holiday you celebrate, if any. No matter, wishing you lots of happiness, and blessings of every kind.

Now, also a quick update on the lottery horizon. Just to say, that my dream of winning the lottery this year, hes not come to pass, just yet. I am confident that one day soon, the message on here will be a joyous one. I can’t wait! Sending you lots of love, for yourself and all those you care about. Wishing you end this year with a smile and a life full. Full of blessings, love, joy, peace and happiness for all! Enough for today, and see you soon, diana

Looking For A Friend!

Posted in Uncategorized with tags , , , , , , , on February 15, 2011 by dianaswonderworks

Well, watched a recoded show today called Disappeared. The subject of the program was the story of  a young woman, Toni Sharpless. The  story is about how she and a friend went out one night in 2009, Toni was upset, stressed, dropped her friend on the side of the road and left. It was late at night, in a strange neighborhood to her and her friend. She was never seen again, her friend called the police the next day. No one has seen from her or heard from her since. I decided to do a blog about it, because she is a young woman, who worked hard as a single mother to take care of her daughter. If something like this would happen to me or any of my friends, I would like to think people would do all they could, to bring this mom back to her daughter. The world is a very uncertain place, and so many things are possible. If you can find the time to just go to this link, and refer it to your friends and family, well you never know, you may have the key to bringing this family some peace. She was a nurse by trade, so she spent her life helping care for others. It would be a great injustice for her life not to receive the same care and love she gave to others. I hope you can help, we all need to do what we can, when possible to take a moment to care for the world we live in. Anyway, this is the link: http://www.missingtonisharpless.com .

Hoping your day is going well, I have been busy and just finished the drawing I was working on. Now, it is time to make some lunch and start another project. I am starting to feel my energy rise again, spring is my favorite of all seasons. Cool weather, not freezing, the buds starting to pop their heads out of branched, and plants and the earth. The hope of new life, and feeling that great energy bloom with it! Just love it. Hoping your day after Valentines is wonderful, and if you did not have some one special do something for you, remember, you can do it for yourself. Do something extra wonderful today, and set that bar really high, so that next year it can only be better!

Quick note, I did not win the lottery last night. But, I have been having really good dreams lately, I love dreaming anyway. Lately however, they have been coming back and they are so wonderful. The night before Valentine’s Day, I dreamed I was living in Hawaii. All night dreams of painting exotic flowers and walking beautiful sandy beaches, it was so great! Hope you have a happy day. Sending out my love to you as usual, love always, diana

Happy Valentines Day!

Posted in Uncategorized with tags , , , , , , , on February 14, 2011 by dianaswonderworks

Today I am working on a drawing I started a couple of weeks ago(before I got the flu). Lots of tiny detail work. Although money is tight and my abilities to go celebrate the holiday in customary fashion are hindered. It is none the less my favorite holiday of the year, besides Christmas. These two holidays remain dear to me for one reason, they are so focused on love.  On this Valentine’s Day, I wish for you a happy one. If you have some one to share it with do it. It does not matter if you have money to spend on each other, what matters is just showing them you care. If you do not have that special some one, like a husband, wife, girlfriend or boyfriend, do not despair. Do something kind for a neighbor, friend, child, parent or anyone you feel drawn to share a little bit of love. A simple act of kindness is all, just to let that person (who may not have some one to get that from) feel loved or appreciated, just noticed on a day, when it is so easy to feel out of the loop!

As an example, I remember that for my daughters, every year on Valentine’s Day, we had out own little ritual. I would get up early and make thin German pancakes(chocolate flavor), and fill them with fruit filling(usually strawberry or cherry) and then top them with whipped cream. To go with it a nice mug of home made hot cocoa with whipped cream or marshmallows. With their breakfast, I would lay out a card, heart shaped box of chocolates for them to share with friends, and any other gift for that day. Since it is not a school holiday, I wanted to make sure they were able to get that special love from me to carry with them through out the day. No matter who got something from this boy or other, they had that special time with me in the morning, and it made their day! They still talk about it, and yesterday my youngest called for the recipes, so she could do that for her room mates. I know they had a wonderful day!

So as I head back to work on my artwork, just wanted to say Happy Valentine’s Day to you and yours. Just a little extra love today, since today is a holiday of love. After all, we all need to feel special and what better day to feel special than today! Extra love to you and yours, wishing you love of happiness today, diana

Happy Days Are Here Again!

Posted in Uncategorized with tags , , , , , , , on January 27, 2011 by dianaswonderworks

Well, just got in. Left work a little early to have a apinting framed. Quiet day at the gallery, just a couple of people, no sales. Slow time of year for sure. Ready to eat something and get to work painting. Not sure if I am planning on working on the Mermaid, ,might just wait on that, until I am sure what I am doing. Thinking about a Sunflower one again, a part 2 of the Big One!

Just checked my lottery, not a millionaire yet, but hey, tomorrow is another day and another drawing. Never can tell what tomorrow will bring.

Driving home tonight, I was remembering making noodles with my grandmother as a child. It is such a cool memory, and so different by today’s standards. I remember her rolling out all that dough, spreading flour on it, rolling it out to a paper thin sheet. No fancy rolling machines for! Then she would lay out this huge sheet on her bed to dry out. It had to be four feet, in a huge circle. Then the next morning, my sisters and I would her by making the noodles. She would cut some for a dumpling style noodle, and we had the fun job, She cut others into squares or like a diamond shape. She had this board with ridges in it. We took the noodle laid it out on this board, and with a wooden stick (round and short and thinner than a chop stick), we would press down on the noodle and roll it across the board. It made a tubular noodle with ridges down the center. The top and bottom were not ridged, but made a point. Every day grandpa had to have home made chicken soup. So, every day grandma went out to the yard (they lived on a farm), and she killed a chicken, we had to help her pluck it. Then she made the soup, fresh meat, fresh noodles, it was the best ever! Thinking to myself, I really want to make those again someday. Nothing can compare, I guess that is why I do not like a lot of soups, tastes like water to me. Lost the thrill at an early age, once you have had the best it is hard to go back.

Anyway, just thought I would share. Not so sure how many of you have that memory. A little different from the usual American childhood, I guess. Surprise me, I would love to know if anyone else has a similar memory. Lots of the fancier restaurants now a days are bringing the whole fresh noodle back again. So, clearly I am not the only one to appreciate this delicacy. Another new picture is posted hope you like it. Sending out my love to you as always, hoping you are having a great day! diana

Peace And Quiet!

Posted in Uncategorized with tags , , , , , , , on December 19, 2010 by dianaswonderworks

What a great day! It is quiet, my day off, haven’t done much. Some laundry and a movie, updated a few more paintings in my shops. Once I am done blogging, it will be time for me to do some art for the rest of the day. Maybe a nice bubble bath, and some quiet meditation! It has been a wonderful week, feeling so uplifted every day. The world is at peace for me, with all the work I have been doing in my mind and spirit, it is just amazing what a short time of some good mental talk can do for the soul. The holidays are almost here, I was counting on winning Oprah’s favorite things to make Christmas presents possible, no work on that yet! If not the lottery would be nice, would really dress up the empty floor under my tree, all things said, the tree looks like a show stopper. Every day or evening, I turn it on, just to feel that glow from the lights fill me with thoughts of Santa and all good things that are Christmas. Whatever happens, I am looking forward to a great Christmas, and enjoying it in what ever fashion it shows itself this year!

I do hope for you and yours, that you are able to see family and friends, nothing warms the heart more than being with the ones you love. So far, no news that I will see mine, no matter what I hope we all have a holiday to remember. Hoping you get all the things you dream of, when your head hits the pillow at night. Hope all those wishes you made on your favorite star come true, and mostly I hope Santa (who ever he is to you), treats you abundantly, I am sure you deserve it!

Still trying to decide whether I want to paint or draw today, kind of in the mood for both. However, unless I get a clone of me or some extra arms, I will have to choose something. The weather today is quite nice, so I am enjoying the sun while it lasts. Apparently there is some more rain and snow on the way in the next couple of days, and being winter, the daytime is so much shorter. Seeing the sun in those brief moments is so refreshing. Definitely looking forward to some extra time off, and being able to do some art in a concentrated level. Slowly things seem to be coming into balance. Funny thing how that happened too. All I needed to do was slow down a little and I seen to be getting more done or at least appreciating all that I do get done. The pressure is off, and like seems so much happier again! No big lottery news, and the year is almost over, still waiting for the big win. The Baobao bags contest is almost over. I want to thank all of you who took the time to vote, but alas it does not look like enough votes to win. I have not given up, at the same time I am very happy for the ones in the lead. Their artwork is really nice, and all I can say is “Great Job!”  I am sure I will be on more often the next couple of weeks. Who knows weather permitting, maybe all winter. If all turns out as I dream, maybe forever! Ultimately, if I could work at home, and sell outside the home in a gallery and online, I would be blissfully happy for the rest of my life! Sending you all my love and happy thoughts for the day, love, diana

Sunday Break!

Posted in Uncategorized with tags , , , , , , , on November 21, 2010 by dianaswonderworks

Well, today I am off. Totally ready for a break from work at the gallery and overwhelmed at all the work I face the next two days at home. i have a lot of painting to do, lots of laundry, grocery shopping, bills to pay, prints to be made and a trip to the frame shop to frame everything and to get other things matted and covered for sale at the gallery. So much to do in such a short time. Tuesday is only a breath or two away! I feel like I have to get ahead as much as possible today and tomorrow, because Christmas shopping will peak in a week, if we actually see any of that peak at an art gallery remains to be seen. I am sure it is not like regular retail  sales, most people do not have art on their Christmas lists, but hopefully enough of them do to make a buck or two, before the winter slump in sales arrives!

I forgot, I need to get some blood work done as well, that should have been done weeks ago, time just got away from me. I hope the hospital will still honor the prescription, I am sure it is over a month old now. Been s busy I forgot all about it. One way or another it has to be dealt with, oh well. So, I am hoping you all are getting ready for the Thanksgiving weekend, I am ready for the extra day off. I do not think I can afford to go out to eat, and doubt I will use that extra day off to cook and bake all day, not that I have the cash to buy the food to do it with. It will probably be just a quiet day at home, watching movies and working on more art. Maybe even some time on the computer, been missing blogging and tweeting and updating my shops. Once winter gets here I should be able to balance it all, I wish I had been better prepared for an art gallery opportunity, I feel like it has really cut into all my work online, and the holidays is the time to make the money. I wish I could clone myself, I am working very hard on letting myself feel overwhelmed. I just stay focused on one thing at a time, otherwise, I may feel anxious and not get anything done!

Other updates, no big news on the lottery, a small win on Friday like $40. I did go to see Harry Potter and the Deathly Hollows on Friday night. It was really good, but as always, I walked away wishing I could have seen the whole thing. Not sure when the second half is coming out, but can’t wait to see it or to own the video. I sold one of my small pieces of art this week, have to run now and delete it from my stores online. Love you all, hoping your day is blessed and that you have a warm holiday weekend planned, love always, diana
